Teaching Practice Phase 2 - Weekly Journal 1

Day 1
18 November 2024
Monday

Today I reached the school by 9 10am.  It was a quite sunny day.  Today marked the second phase of Teaching Practice.  Mine was the first period in the 8 C.  Students were very excited. 
As the first day, I introduced the new unit to them Flowers and Showers.  I have given a brief explanation about the previous chapters and it's authors.  They replied correctly and I was so happy.

Tuesday 

Today I reached the school by 9 20 am.  The day started with the prayer song by the school choir.  Mine was first hour in 8 C.  I entered the class with a pleasant face and greeted them.  The chapter I was going to take was The Nightingale and the Rose by Oscar Wilde.  Entry activity given was , what would they sacrifice for someone they love!? Is sacrifice worth want price?  The group activity given was to prepare the profile of Oscar Wilde.  A home work was also given to write a description about the beauty of nature. 

Day 3

Wednesday 

It was my third day of teaching Practice. I reached the school by 9 20 am.  The day was quite sunny and had lots of duty to fulfil.  Mine was the first hour in 8C.   I prepared both ppt and chart.  It was my second lesson template.  Entry activity given was to show the picture of Nightingale and a Rose and asked them to identify them.  Students identified and responded.  Group activity given was to write the diary entry of the boy.  Homework given was to write a short story on Love and Sacrifice.

Day 4

Thursday 

I reached the school  by 9 10am.   Entry activity given was imagine that you and your friend are sitting in the middle of the garden and discussing something.  Write in a line about the events happened around them.  Group activity given was to prepare a poster about the awareness on the protection of Nature.


Day 5
22 November 2024
Friday 

I reached school by 9 15 am. Today I had 7th period in 8C.  In order to create a mental readiness I asked how many of them had a garden in their home?  They shared their answers.  Group activity given was to write the conversation between young student and the nightingale.
